A failed number purchase almost always traces back to one of three things: an account limit, an insufficient balance, or a missing permission. Work through them in order.

1. Check limits. In the admin account, go to sub-accounts and confirm the number of phone numbers allowed is sufficient for what you’re trying to buy. Adjust the limit if needed and save.
2. Verify balance. Confirm there’s an available balance at both the agency and sub-account level. Add balance, enter payment details, and consider turning on automatic payment so this doesn’t happen again.
3. Resolve a bad request error. If you’re seeing a bad request specifically, check: sufficient balance, area code availability, and that the account making the purchase actually has admin permission to buy numbers. Adjust permissions by editing account settings, or invite additional team members with the right access if needed.
4. Try an alternate area code. If the error is really about area code availability, try a different one — some area codes aren’t available through the underlying telephony provider due to wholesale restrictions outside Assistantz.ai’s control.

Cautionary notes
