How to Set Up Client Rebilling and Wallets
With Stripe connected, open a client's sub-account, click the three dots and select Turn On Rebilling. Set your per-minute or per-message price above the base rate, optionally add a monthly allowance, then invite the client by email so they can fund their own wallet and pay you directly through Stripe.
Rebilling is built into every Assistantz.ai plan — this is where you turn it on per client, set your markup, and get clients paying through their own wallet.
Before you start
Connect Stripe first: see how to connect your Stripe account for rebilling. Rebilling can’t be enabled on a sub-account until Stripe is linked.
Steps
- Open the client’s sub-account in your Assistantz.ai dashboard.
- Turn on rebilling: click the three dots next to the sub-account and select Turn On Rebilling.
- Invite the client to the dashboard by email for secure account access.
- Set your pricing — for example, a per-minute voice rate above the 9¢-per-minute all-in base, or a per-message rate above 2¢. Optionally set a monthly allowance. Save.
- Fund the client wallet. In the client’s billing section, click Balance and add funds, or have the client top up their own wallet and add payment details.
Cautionary notes
- Confirm Stripe is connected before attempting to enable rebilling.
- Invite clients securely — don’t share account credentials over chat or email.
- Double-check pricing and allowance settings before saving; these are what clients get billed.
- Walk clients through wallet setup the first time to avoid payment friction.
How much margin this leaves
Agencies commonly bill clients 15–25¢ per voice minute and 5¢+ per message against the platform’s base rates. On a client using 600 minutes and 1,000 messages a month, that’s roughly $96 of usage margin alone, before any retainer. See more on pricing and the FAQ.
